Hi wanderer,

I’m really glad you found your way here. This little corner of the internet is something I’ve been wanting to create for a while now. It’s a space where you can gain insight, whether you’re dealing with epilepsy, depression, anxiety, ADHD, Bipolar, BPD, or just the experience of being human. Think of it as a chill spot for anyone who is looking for guidance, some practical tips to help make things a little easier, as well as different perspectives. No pressure, no judgment, just a place to be and maybe find something useful along the way.

Why this blog even exists

I wanted to build a place that feels welcoming to everyone but especially to those of us who live with epilepsy or mental health challenges. Sometimes it feels like the world doesn’t quite get what it’s like to juggle these things. This blog is about sharing what I’ve learned, what works, and what doesn’t, in a way that’s easy to digest and feels like a conversation with a friend.

Here, you’ll find reflections on mental health, stories from my own journey, and practical strategies that I use with my patients. I mix things up with ideas from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), some clinical hypnotherapy techniques and more. The goal is to offer tools that help you build resilience and find calm, no matter what you’re facing.

Who am I?

I’m Anthony DeGrenier, a Licensed Professional Counselor working in the Chicago Metropolitan Area in Illinois. I’m also epileptic, so I get firsthand how epilepsy can impact your mental health and daily life. That’s part of why this blog means so much to me. I specialize in working with neurodivergent folks, including those with ADHD and OCD, as well as individuals with various other mental health conditions, ASD and epilepsy. My approach is pretty relaxed and practical. I want to help people find ways to live well with their authenticity in mind.

When I’m not working or writing, you might find me playing with my cats, engaging in hobbies such as biohacking and geocaching, making new playlists or looking for new spots to travel to. Just recently visited Hong Kong, and it was fantastic.

What you can expect here

  • Practical tips for managing symptoms of epilepsy, depression, anxiety, ADHD, and more

  • Personal reflections on living with epilepsy and mental health challenges

  • Relatable journal entries that show the ups and downs of this journey

  • Resources and ideas for self-care, mindfulness, and building emotional strength

I’ll share what I use in my therapy practice and what I’ve found helpful in my own life. If you’re a therapist, parent, or just someone looking for support, I hope you’ll find something here that speaks to you. Maybe at a point I'll even be able to share your stories here.

Why connection matters

Living with epilepsy or mental health conditions can sometimes feel isolating. You might feel like no one really understands what you’re going through. That’s why connection is so important. Whether it’s connecting with others who share similar experiences or just finding a space where you feel seen and heard, it makes a difference.

This blog is my way of reaching out and saying you’re not alone. We all have our struggles, but we also have strengths and moments of joy. I want to celebrate those with you and offer a hand when things get tough.

Let’s take this journey together

I can't say exactly why you're here. Only you know that. That being said, if this blog can be a space where you feel comfortable and supported, that's a win in my book.

I’m excited to share more posts soon about managing anxiety, finding balance with ADHD, coping with depression, and living well with epilepsy. I’ll also talk about how therapy can help and share some of the best hiking trails I’ve discovered that help clear the mind.

Thanks for stopping by. I hope you’ll stick around and join the conversation. Feel free to reach out or share your thoughts anytime. This space is for you.

Take care,

Anthony
